Karina Oliani

The adventure doctor and athlete has many pioneering achievements, mostly in outdoor activities.  Born on May 14, 1982, in São Paulo, Brazil, Karina had a fascination for adventure and adrenaline. At 12 she made her first parachute jump (double) and completed a first scuba diving class. By 17 she was already a two-time Brazilian wakeboard champion in addition to being three-time champion Snowboarder record holder free diver.  Today she practices many other sports, practices medicine as a search & rescue emergency doctor, and is a certified helicopter pilot.  In 2006, when she began hosting for SportsTV Impact Zone TV show.  Karina Oliani is the first Brazilian doctor to have the title of specialist in emergency medicine and rescue in remote areas. She was the founder and first president of ABMAR (Brazilian Association of Remote Areas Medicine and Adventure Sports). She's also CEO of Pitaya Filmes and has directed and produced dozens of series on Brazilian television.  Her work has won several awards, including best hostess at the Sao Paulo Film and Television Festival . Between her social medical expeditions and her personal travel Karina has visited 110 countries. She climbed Everest on both sides (north and south) and was the first person in the world to climb the 25th of April Bridge, considered the most beautiful in Europe.  She was also the first to cross the largest lava lake on the planet; Erta Ale volcano.
