What does the Outex warranty cover?

All Outex products are guaranteed against manufacturing defects in materials, process, and workmanship. If you encounter a problem, contact our support team immediately so we can help diagnose and resolve it. Please follow the installation instructions on our website and associated links.

  • Optics & Accessories: 1-year warranty from date of purchase
  • Covers: 30-day warranty from date of purchase

Outex products are made from high-quality, long-lasting materials — optical glass, stainless steel, aluminium, nylon, and plastic — and are built for extended professional use. Covers are the exception: they are designed to balance robustness, malleability, transparency, and tactile feedback. Like running shoes or tyres, they are consumables — meant to be used, subject to wear, and affordable to replace via Shop By Parts.

What is NOT covered by the warranty?

Outex products are designed for extreme and volatile environments. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects — not equipment loss, collision damage, or conditions beyond the system's rated depth. To use the same analogy: we warrant the vehicle, not the collision; the running shoes, not the twisted ankle.

The following conditions are outside warranty coverage:

  • Water pressure beyond the certified depth of 33 feet (10 metres)
  • High-surf conditions (10 ft+), high-impact contact (coral, paintballs, rocks)
  • Direct contact with abrasive or corrosive chemicals
  • Punctures, rips, or tears to covers from use

This is standard across all waterproof camera housings and is not unique to Outex.

What is the Outex return policy?

All sales are final beyond 30 days. For returns within 30 days, all parts except covers are subject to a minimum 10% refurbish fee. Covers cannot be refurbished or refunded. Contact our support team with any questions.

What about the Outex cover — how long does it last?

The cover is the one component that wears over time. Clear Covers do not oxidise and last 5–10 times longer than first-generation blue covers. Signs of deterioration include discolouration, elasticity loss, or oxidisation. Importantly, all of these signs would be visible during installation — if the cover installs and seals normally, it is fine. If you experience difficulty with installation or the seal test, replace the cover or contact us before use. Replacement covers are available in Shop By Parts.

Does my existing insurance cover my camera gear?

Photographers with photo or video business insurance are likely already covered — check with your agent. If you need dedicated gear insurance, affordable options are available for as little as $100/year for $6,000–$10,000 of coverage. Here are some providers to consider:
