Ben Lowy Underwater Photoshoot Tutorial for B&H Photo at PhotoPlus Expo
During the 2019 PhotoPlus Expo in NYC we had the chance to record a quick underwater photoshoot demonstration with professional photographer Ben Lowy and B&H Photo. Ben and Outex founder JR demonstrated the basics of a fashion shoot. Ben was using a Sony A9 with 16-35mm f/4 and JR an A7R3 with 16-35mm f/2.8. Both used the Outex Pro Kit Regular with 72mm and 82mm front glass ports, respectively, and Light And motion Stella 9600 lights. B&H shot above water footage with a variety of cameras.

Adventure photographer Daniel Woods has always been amazed at the beauty and vastness of the La Jolla sea caves in San Diego, California. After many years doing photo shoots at La Jolla Shores, Woods couldn’t help but think how cool it would be to introduce lighting to the cave in a night time shoot. Making it his own personal passion project, Woods got a crew together, using a Sony α7R III camera in an Outex waterproof camera housing and added a bevy of waterproof lights for a glowing sea cave adventure sports shoot. This short video was featured by Sony alpha universe on Oct 12th, 2018.

Swimming with Sharks and Chris Gillette of @GatorBoys_Chris in Florida 2018. I recently visited our friend, marine biologist, and ambassador Chris Gillette in South Florida. Chris is a marine biologist and animal lover that was born and raised in south Florida. To call Chris an alligator wrestler would only partially describe his many talents. He’s more of an alligator whisperer, who also happens to charm snakes, sharks, and other local native species of the area. You can learn more about Chris in our Pro page profile. So when Chris invited me to go for a swim with sharks off the coast with a few of his friends it was an offer I could not resist.
