How Outex Helped Pro Photographer Kirill Umrikhin Land Another Magazine Cover
Capturing the perfect outdoor shot is no easy feat—especially when you’re working in extreme environments where water, sand, and unpredictable weather can threaten your gear. For professional photographer Kirill Umrikhin, pushing creative boundaries often means shooting in challenging conditions, and Outex has been his go-to solution for years. Once again, his dedication and Outex’s innovative waterproof housing have landed him a stunning magazine cover.
The 47th annual Catalina Classic Paddle Race concluded at the Manhattan Beach Pier in late August. The 32-mile race from Catalina Island to the California coast brought together over 100 athletes for this amazing open water feat. Photographer extraordinaire Kirill Umrikhin was able to capture some of the action as the athletes approached the final stretch of the race from Palos Verdes buoy R10.

Taking Photography to the Next Level
Kirill Umrikhin is known for his breathtaking action and adventure photography. Whether he's capturing athletes carving through fresh powder, surfing epic waves, or exploring remote landscapes, his work requires a camera setup that can keep up. That’s where Outex comes in. By providing a lightweight, fully submersible, and durable housing, Outex empowers Kirill to shoot in environments where traditional camera gear would be at risk.
His latest magazine cover is a testament to the freedom Outex provides. Instead of worrying about damaging his expensive equipment, Kirill can focus on composition, lighting, and capturing the decisive moment—whether he's waist-deep in water, shooting in heavy rain, or battling the elements in the backcountry.
As usual, the photos do not disappoint. Kirill loves his Nikon Z8, Z9 cameras and various focal-length lenses inside his Outex housing system with optical glass ports.

Kirill has been an ambassador for Nikon cameras, San Disk storage, and Manfrotto accessory photo gear as well. He recently moved to Los Angeles, CA from Portugal with his family. He's now based in Manhattan Beach.
