Can I Use the Outex System for Multiple Cameras and Lenses?
Mar 28, 2019
Yes. The Outex underwater camera housing system is universally compatible with virtually any camera and lens. Like your camera system, Outex is a modular system of interoperable, interchangeable parts — covers, ports, and accessories — that work together and grow with your needs over time.
All Outex covers, front glass ports, rear glass, and accessories are interchangeable across all brands, makes, and models: Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sigma, Tamron, Laowa, RED, Blackmagic, Leica, Lumix, Hasselblad, and more. Camera types supported include DSLR, mirrorless, film, medium format, and cinema.

1. Cover Sizes
Outex covers come in three sizes: Entry (100), Pro Regular (110), and Pro Large (130). A larger cover always works with a smaller camera body — there is simply more space inside. The reverse is not true.
Each cover size is also available in variants with additional openings for accessories. For full size specifications and variant details, see the Outex Cover Size Guide. All covers are backwards compatible — existing Outex front glass ports, rear glass, and accessories work interchangeably with any cover size.
2. Front and Rear Glass Ports
The rear glass is universal and fits all cameras with a tripod mount.
The front glass ports match the filter thread size on your lens. Outex supports all industry-standard sizes from 49mm to 105mm, and step-up rings are available for all sizes. All front glass port sizes work with all cover sizes. For full details on selecting the right front port size, see the Front Glass Port Size Guide.
If your lens is a fisheye, hooded, or curved-front lens without a filter thread, you will need an Outex Dome Port instead of a flat front port. See the Dome Port Guide for details.
Kits include one front glass port size of your choice. Additional sizes can be purchased individually from the Parts page and used with any cover or kit you own.
3. Accessories and Add-Ons
Outex accessories complement the system and extend its capabilities: tripod mounts, flash and lighting, holding straps, remote triggers, cable adaptors, tethering, pistol grips, zoom lens support, and more. All accessories are compatible with the Pro Kit configuration.
