Becoming an Outex Ambassador: How Our Customer Community Works

We get asked regularly about ambassador relationships and collaborations. This page explains how the Outex community actually works — and why it's different from the typical influencer model.

We Don't Do Pay-to-Play

We don't buy influence or placement by giving away product in exchange for posts, reviews, or follower counts. Every single Outex ambassador and collaboration started with an Outex customer — without exception. This isn't a policy we enforce; it's simply how every relationship has naturally developed.

The reason is straightforward: genuine content from people who actually use and value the gear is more credible, more useful, and more interesting than sponsored posts from people who received it for free. Our community can tell the difference, and so can we.

What Ambassador Relationships Actually Look Like

There's no application process and no fixed criteria. Once you've purchased and used Outex gear, you can start participating and creating content as you see fit — for your own audience, in your own voice. We encourage you to tag and notify us so we can follow along, respond, answer questions, and help promote your work where it makes sense.

When we consider featuring someone more formally on the Outex Ambassador pages or in our content, we look at a combination of factors:

  • Experience with the product — genuine, hands-on use across real shooting conditions
  • Area of expertise — fishing, surfing, triathlons, portrait, adventure, landscape, lifestyle, caving, canyoning, pet photography, cinematography, and more
  • Contribution to the community — educating, inspiring, sharing knowledge, answering questions, writing reviews or tutorials
  • Reach and influence — considered, but not the primary factor. We work with academics and artists who carry significant influence in specific fields but have modest social followings, as well as creators who post frequently and enthusiastically across platforms

It's not a formula. We weigh these factors together and look for relationships that make sense for both sides over the long term.

What We Can Offer

Every collaboration is different because every contributor values different things. Some of what we've offered in the past includes:

  • Special offerings or early access for your audience
  • Inside knowledge on the technology, tips and tricks, dome use, tethering, and advanced configurations
  • Participation in new product development and feedback
  • Invitations to workshops or trade events
  • Promotion of your work across Outex channels and community pages

We want to hear what matters to you so we can build something that's genuinely win-win and built to last.

See the Community in Action

The best way to understand what Outex ambassador relationships look like in practice is to explore the community itself. Start with the Ambassador pages, and explore the News, Blog, and Outdoor Photography Series for examples of the kind of content and relationships we build. You can also follow along on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
