Outex 89–95mm Step-Up Adaptor — For External Polarizers & Filters

This adaptor is designed specifically for use with the Outex Exposed-Thread Front Glass Port in lens sizes 77mm, 82mm, and 86mm. Those port sizes have an external front thread of 89mm — a non-standard size not widely available in the filter market. This step-up adaptor converts the 89mm external thread to 95mm, allowing you to attach any standard 95mm polarizing filter, ND filter, or other photographic filter.

Without this adaptor, 77mm, 82mm, and 86mm exposed-thread port users cannot attach standard filters to the front of the port. With it, the full 95mm filter ecosystem is available.

Who Needs This?

  • You own (or are ordering) the Outex Exposed-Thread Front Glass Port in a 77mm, 82mm, or 86mm lens size
  • You want to use a standard polarizing filter, ND filter, or other 95mm filter in front of the port

Note: The 49–72mm exposed-thread port sizes have a 77mm external thread — a standard size — and do not need this adaptor. Standard 77mm filters attach directly.

Compatibility

  • Works only with the Outex Exposed-Thread Front Glass Port — not compatible with the standard flat front port
  • Accepts any standard 95mm photographic filter on the front
  • Compatible with all Outex covers (Entry and Pro, Regular and Large)

Dome Size Guide

**120mm dome** — Compact, lighter, more portable. Great value for most underwater and split-level work.

**180mm dome** — Larger dome = better optical correction, especially for wide-angle lenses and split-level photography. Recommended for professional and demanding use. Heavier and bulkier than the 120mm.
