Desiccant (Silica Gel) Packs For Underwater Camera Housing Use - Instructions

Desiccant (silica gel) packs can be used for moisture absorption.  They are useful for wicking moisture away from the air/environment they are in, and can be used inside the Outex waterproof housings to reduce the amount of air moisture inside the housing.  That in turn helps reduce fogging.  Fogging is often the result of the heated moisture in the case's air, and often cause by the camera gear.

Can tele-zoom lenses be used with Outex?

Using telephoto and zoom lenses with the Outex system is entirely possible, provided you select a cover size that accommodates the lens's physical extension. Because the Outex housing is flexible, you can maintain full tactile control over the zoom and focus rings through the silicone material. However, it is critical to ensure that the lens does not "push" against the front glass as it extends, which could compromise the waterproof seal. To prevent this, users should choose a Pro-sized cover that allows for internal movement or use lenses with internal focusing and zooming mechanisms. For lenses that extend significantly, adding an extension ring or opting for a larger cover ensures the system remains airtight and functional throughout the entire focal range.
