Camera + Lighting Trigger Bundle | Brett Stanley Custom Kit
Underwater Studio Lighting & Cable Pass-Through Custom Bundle
Underwater portrait photographer Brett Stanley is one of our Outex Ambassadors and teaches underwater studio photography all over the world. We built this custom bundle after Brett asked us to design a strobe triggering system specifically for his students — one that lets photographers trigger multiple light sources above and below water through a fully waterproof housing seal.
The Brett Stanley Special Kit contains:
- Pro Cover T with 1 opening (Regular or Large size — your choice)
- 2 x Cable Adaptors + 2 Plugs (waterproof cable pass-through at each end)
- 1 x Front Optical Glass Port (choose filter thread size)
- 1 x Rear Glass Port with tripod-mounted bracket (universal fit for all cameras)
- 1 x Lubricant for plug/cable
- 1 x Radio/Speedlight Trigger Cover + Flat Port for optical triggering (Cover Flash T1 + Kit)
- 3 x Protective Lens Cases for the ports
The Cover T has one opening on the bottom that accepts the Cable Adaptor, creating a waterproof cable pass-through connection between the camera housing and the Radio Trigger Cover. This can be used to trigger above-water strobes, or to connect the camera to a computer via USB or any other cable protocol.
The Radio/Speedlight Trigger Cover is waterproof and can be secured above water or float on the surface to trigger additional light sources via wireless radio or optical with a speedlight strobe.
The Cable Adaptor creates a waterproof pass-through for any cable that fits its opening — audio, video, power, data, or control signals. It works with any cable you already own. Two adaptors are included so both ends of the connection are sealed.

Note: the Cable Adaptor and Tripod Adaptor share the same Cover T opening dimensions and are interchangeable. If you need both simultaneously, the Cover T2 with 2 openings is the right choice.

Use Cases
- Underwater strobe triggering — trigger multiple strobes above and below water simultaneously through the waterproof seal
- Studio underwater photography — controlled lighting setups in pools and tanks for portrait and fashion work
- Workshop and education use — the kit Brett Stanley uses and recommends to his students worldwide
- USB tethering — connect camera to a laptop for live image transfer while shooting underwater
- Multi-source lighting — combine radio-triggered and optically-triggered strobes for complex lighting setups
- Any cable protocol — audio, video, power, data, or control signals can be passed through the same adaptor system
Here’s a lighting example of using the cable pass-through to trigger multiple strobes above and below water during a photoshoot.

Cover Size Dimension Differences

Dome Size Guide
**120mm dome** — Compact, lighter, more portable. Great value for most underwater and split-level work.
**180mm dome** — Larger dome = better optical correction, especially for wide-angle lenses and split-level photography. Recommended for professional and demanding use. Heavier and bulkier than the 120mm.
