Waterproof Tripod Mount for Your Camera Housing

This add-on kit is an upgrade and requires a Pro Kit to work.

The Tripod Add-on Kit lets you mount your Outex waterproof housing on any standard tripod — poolside, at the water line, or on location — without compromising the waterproof seal. It works with any camera that has a standard ¼-inch tripod mount.

All Add-on Kits supplement a Pro Kit you already own. They are fully compatible with your existing front & rear glass and accessories, adding only the components needed for the new capability.

The Tripod Add-on Kit contains:

  1. Pro Cover T with 1 opening (Regular or Large size — your choice)
  2. Stainless Steel Tripod Adaptor (waterproof tripod mount)

The Tripod Adaptor extends your camera’s standard ¼-inch tripod mount to the outside of the Outex housing, creating a fully waterproof external tripod connection. If your camera is compatible with a standard tripod, it’s compatible with the Outex Tripod Adaptor. This kit works in conjunction with your existing Rear Glass tripod mount bracket.

The Cover T has one opening on the bottom that accepts the Tripod Adaptor. This is a separate cover from your Pro Cover — you continue using your Pro Cover when the tripod adaptor is not needed.

Note: the Cover T opening is also compatible with the Outex Cable Adaptor (sold separately). Both adaptors share the same dimensions and are interchangeable. If you need to use both simultaneously, the Cover T2 with 2 openings is the right choice — see the Cable Pass-Through + Tripod Mount Add-on Kit.

Use Cases

  • Poolside and water-level shooting — stable tripod positioning at or just below the surface
  • Split-shot photography — lock your framing for above/below waterline images
  • Studio and tank work — precise camera placement in controlled aquatic environments
  • Long exposure and time-lapse — eliminate camera shake for slow-shutter water shots
  • Video and film production — stable platform for underwater or splash video setups
  • Rain and wet weather — tripod-mount your housing in any outdoor wet environment

Dome Size Guide

**120mm dome** — Compact, lighter, more portable. Great value for most underwater and split-level work.

**180mm dome** — Larger dome = better optical correction, especially for wide-angle lenses and split-level photography. Recommended for professional and demanding use. Heavier and bulkier than the 120mm.
