Waterproof Cable Pass-Through & Tripod Mount — Two Capabilities, One Kit

This add-on kit is an upgrade and requires a Pro Kit to work.

This kit adds two independent capabilities to your existing Outex Pro Kit: a waterproof cable pass-through for any cabled protocol, and a waterproof tripod mount. Whether you're routing audio, video, power, data, or control signals through your housing — or mounting your rig to a tripod — this kit covers both without compromising your waterproof seal.

All Add-on Kits supplement a Pro Kit you already own. They are fully compatible with your existing front & rear glass and accessories, adding only the components needed for the new capabilities.

The kit contains:

  1. Pro Cover T2 with 2 openings (Regular or Large size — your choice), or Cover T1 with 1 opening if you only need one adaptor at a time
  2. Cable Adaptor + Plug (waterproof cable pass-through)
  3. Tripod Adaptor (waterproof tripod mount)
  4. Lubricant

The Cable Adaptor creates a waterproof pass-through for any cable that fits its opening — audio, video, power, data, or control signals. Cables are not included, since the right cable depends on your specific use case.

The Tripod Adaptor extends your camera's standard ¼-inch tripod mount to the outside of the Outex housing, creating a fully waterproof external tripod connection. If your camera is compatible with a standard tripod, it's compatible with the Outex Tripod Adaptor.

Both adaptors share the same Cover T opening dimensions and are interchangeable. The Cover T2 (2 openings) lets you use both simultaneously. If you only need one at a time, the Cover T1 (1 opening) is sufficient.

Use Cases

The cable pass-through is protocol-agnostic. Common applications include:

  • Tethered capture — connect your camera to a laptop for live image transfer
  • External power — run power cables to extend shooting sessions
  • Audio — pass microphone or audio monitor cables through the housing
  • Video output — route HDMI or SDI signals to an external monitor or recorder
  • Strobe/lighting triggers — sync external strobes above or below water
  • Control signals — connect any control cable your workflow requires
  • Tripod mounting — mount your waterproof rig to any standard tripod, poolside or on location

Dome Size Guide

**120mm dome** — Compact, lighter, more portable. Great value for most underwater and split-level work.

**180mm dome** — Larger dome = better optical correction, especially for wide-angle lenses and split-level photography. Recommended for professional and demanding use. Heavier and bulkier than the 120mm.
